Summer at AMITY: Community, Connection, and a Season Full of Good Things

Summer may be winding down, but we’re not quite ready to let it go.

The past few months at AMITY Coworking have been filled with good conversations, new connections, learning opportunities, plenty of food, and a healthy amount of fun. From lunch-and-learns to wellness events and community gatherings, summer reminded us why we love having a space where work and community can naturally come together.

Here’s a look back at some of what happened around AMITY this summer.

A Little Cinco de Mayo Celebration

May brought a little friendly competition to AMITY.

For Cinco de Mayo, we got tacos from the amazing VillaNorte for a guacamole competition complete with tacos and plenty of taste testing. Members got to show off their guac-making skills, enjoy some great food, and spend time together in true AMITY fashion.

There may have been a winner, but honestly, everyone who got to eat tacos was a winner.

Community Over Cars

In July, we took things outside for Community Over Cars, a summer gathering that brought members and the Northville community together for an evening of conversation, connection, and a little caffeine.

Getting coffee from Tuscan Cafe, attendees could grab a coffee, mingle with other local professionals, and enjoy a more relaxed summer evening outside the traditional workday.

It was a great reminder that coworking isn't just about where you work. It’s about the people you meet while you’re there.

A Month of Wellness

August was all about wellness at AMITY.

We kicked off our Month of Wellness with a Guided Meditation & Breathwork experience led by Samantha Schmuck of Revived Living. Members had the opportunity to slow down, reset, and make a little room for mindfulness in the middle of a busy workweek.

On August 19, we welcomed The Cleanse Club to AMITY for a special Lunch & Learn. Members were able to take a break from the workday, enjoy lunch, and learn more about wellness, healthy habits, and ways to support their overall well-being.

We then hosted our WELLTH Social Hour & Wellness Activations, bringing together wellness-focused vendors, activations, and community members for an evening centered around feeling good and connecting with others. With Curious Elixirs and other wellness partners joining us, it was the perfect excuse to close the laptop and spend some time together.

And we wrapped up the month with one of our most unique events yet: Silent Disco Yoga at Ford Field Park.

In partnership with aloe + alchemy and City Glow Yoga, members gathered outdoors for an evening of movement, music, and good vibes. With headphones on and the park as our backdrop, it was definitely not your average yoga class.

More Than a Place to Work

One of our favorite things about summer at AMITY has been seeing our community continue to grow beyond the workspace itself.

Whether members were grabbing lunch together, meeting for coffee, attending an event, joining a wellness experience, or simply running into one another in the kitchen, these everyday moments are what make AMITY feel like more than just a place to work.

We believe coworking should give you more than a desk and Wi-Fi. It should give you a community, opportunities to learn, and a reason to look forward to coming into work.

Looking Ahead

As summer comes to an end, we’re already looking toward fall and the holiday season. We have more community gatherings, social events, and opportunities to connect in the works, including upcoming fall and holiday happy hours.

And, of course, there’s always something happening around AMITY.

If you’re a current member, we can’t wait to see you around the space as we head into a new season. If you haven’t experienced AMITY yet, consider this your sign to stop by, take a tour, and see what coworking in downtown Northville can look like.

Summer may be coming to a close, but at AMITY, community season never really ends.
